Commissioner Rick Dyer

Commissioner Rick Dyer
Jackson County Board of Commissioners

Rick Dyer was elected to the Jackson County Board of Commissioners in November of 2014.

After rising to senior management in the automotive industry, in 2008 he started a general contracting company. This allowed the flexibility to go to law school and continue to support his family. Not the best time to do anything in the construction business, yet he still found great success. He loved sitting down with people in their homes, finding energy savings, and what works best for them. This business will continue to serve Southern Oregon residents with new managers running the day-to-day operations while Rick turns his full attention to the Job of Jackson County Commissioner.

For the 2017 calendar year, Commissioner Dyer is the Board liaison to the following County departments and/or committees:  Airport (Airport Advisory Committee), Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), Health and Human Services (Animal Control Advisory Committee, Local Alcoholism and Drug Planning Committee, Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Committee, Public Health Advisory Committee, Veterans’ Advisory Committee, and Wolf Advisory Committee), and Surveyor.

Commissioner Dyer also serves as the Board liaison to the following:  Central Point City Council, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Governor’s Regional Solutions Team (RST), Housing Authority of Jackson County (HAJC), Jackson County Vector Control, Jacksonville City Council, Natural Resource Conservation Service, National Association of Counties (NACo) (Community Economic Workforce Development Steering Committee), NOAA Fisheries Services, Rogue Workforce Partnership (Job Council), Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc. (SOREDI), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
